We talk a lot these days about the importance of self love. But for many of us, that is a difficult concept to grasp. What the hell does that mean, anyways?
Ace of Wands is symbolic of the powerful force of positive self regard. Wands are the suit of creativity, spirituality, inspiration. The Ace signifies a new, more powerful level of life force emanating from within.
So often, we can allow our creative or spiritual inspirations to die like little embers that never catch fire. We have so many excuses and fears and what seem to be really valid reasons for ignoring our intuitive flashes. Our desires and yearnings are too crazy! too weird! too unrealistic! too expensive! to difficult to act on. The Ace of Wands can’t hear all the blah blah blah of the lower mind. The Ace doesnt notice your lame ass excuses and pathetic whining about why you can’t have it all. The Ace pushes through.
It takes this kind of power to burn through old patterns and old fears so that we may begin to follow our path to deeper satisfaction. Boom! Explosion! I can’t hear my old stories, I’m on fire with my inspiration! The Ace of Wands is the unstoppable energy that we need in order to realize that we are being called by spirit to take a risk and listen to the calling of our innermost selves.
Our deepest yearnings are, by nature, scary. We’ve pushed them down so deep that they hide in our psyches, gurgling around, causing us to feel strangely unfulfilled and depressed. Why do I feel so trapped or fatigued or generally sad? Because I am walking around with all this pent up energy from denying my true desires! The Ace of Wands is gonna blow the whole thing wide open and the next thing you know, you have signed up for that vaginal Kung Fu class or get into some Wiccan cage fighting, quit your job, decided to audition for a musical or open up your own Apothecary! Bust it out! Thats what self actualization is. It’s being the self you have been denying for way too long. Guess what? This is an awakening! Awaken to your real self! Who have you been pleasing at your own expense? You won’t even remember after the Ace of Wands blasts your spirit wide open!
This is a great card for the New Moon in Aries on Saturday April 18. The intention is to let the inspiration flow and feel the lightning bolts of authenticity rock your body, mind and spirit. There’s no more holding back who you really are. Let your freak flag fly!!!
