Today we celebrate the tail end of this amazing and transformational Scorpio Full Moon!
Scorpio is all about intensity, makin it real and plumbing the depths of our subconscious to bring up hidden issues. Sounds Dark, eh?
Well I was hoping to pull the Death card or Something Dark like a swords card with blood and guts but I got this one. I sat with her and I realize- YES! This is about the second step after the plumbing the depths and dealing with our crapola – it is the celebration of our transformation! YAY!
When we are in a dark place, struggling with internal and external demons, the most frightening thought is that it will never end. We can spiral into fear about how we will never get out of this maze of darkness and despair. But once we find the gold – the reason we have travelled to the depths – we can bring up the treasure and let it shine for all the world to see.
At the bottom of this card is a scary dark tangled mass of sticks. It feels like this is where the butterfly was cocooning – and thats for real. Its dark in that cocoon. But the cycles of nature have taken hold, it is time for emergence, and the butterfly appears to rise out of the brush – with her radiant wings spread and ready to go. Its similar to the phoenix rising from the ashes – and phoenix is also a Scorpionic (is that a word?) symbol. The reason we do all this hard transformational work is so that we can rise. We will not be stuck in the wormhole forever! We will emerge.
But wait. These beautiful wings are not surgically attached or artificially produced. They have undergone a powerful, intense and dark journey as they form in the cocoon. There is no skipping this stage. If we don’t go down into the darkness, we cannot develop into our new selves.
So lets celebrate the work we have done! Some of us have been facing some very real demons lately and its time to celebrate our progress. Unlike a butterfly, we have the potential to undergo many powerful transformations in our life, if we are courageous enough to cocoon in the dark and scary pile of sticks….
