My sister shoots out some wacky stuff sometimes. She is a yoga teacher, evolutionary mama and a rebellious paradigm shifter disguised as a sweet little good girl. She can really roll out the doozies and she often makes me spin with her crazy wisdom.
Recently, we were talking about money, and expressing our desire to shift into deeper empowerment and enjoyment of money in our lives. She says, treat money like your boyfriend…
I’m like You mean your husband? Well her husband is actually her boyfriend (of 17 years), she just never went in for the marriage thing – like I said, she’s a rebel…
Well like your lover, or your partner that you love.
Im cynical, but open…Oh, your partner that you love? Not like your toxic marriage partner but your new boyfriend that is amazing and sweet?
Well, you know what I mean. Treat money like your lover. Real or imagined. Act like money is your lover that you are really in love with. How would you treat it? How would you behave in relationship to it?
That took me a bit of time to digest. And then I pulled the 4 of Pentacles. Sweet security. Here are some of my thoughts about how I could cultivate a beloved -type relationship with money. There is a bit of a gendering issue here – in the Tarot, the pentacles are commonly associated with feminine energy but I’m going to use “it” for now, as I experiment with this idea….
Money and I, we are in love. Sweet security. I love it and it loves me. I am not worried when it does not call. It is working up its energy for the perfect time to shower me with its attention and adoration.
I respect money. I don’t ever speak negatively about it. I only have praise and admiration for its power and magic.
I trust money. It will be there when I need it. I am not worried. It will come to me at the right time. There is more than enough for all of it.
I will not hoard money. I will share its light with the right people and things. I will not hog it or try to control it. It has a life of its own and I will respect my inclinations as to how to keep it close and how to set it free.
I treasure it’s gifts, and I do not judge their size (teehee!). Small can give just as much pleasure as big – of course, that requires technique and creativity. Super big money also requires special powers to be able to enjoy to the fullest… I am willing to experiment safely!
I will continue to court money, to charm it, to dedicate myself to continuing education as to what pleases us and how I can conjure its magic with respect and love. I want to learn more about it – and there will never be a point when I can claim to know everything.
I will not use money to try to create my own happiness or self worth. I will take responsibility for myself and my well being, aside from what is happening between money and I.
I will commit to growing myself in relationship to money, so I can maximize our joy and fulfillment….
Loved this post. Thank you for sharing
Best to you
