What attitudes or beliefs are limiting your creative, intuitive process? The Prince of Swords rides in on his power chariot, fueled up to slice through those old thought patterns. He is on a mission, a newly acquired and therefore totally fired up mission to master the process of creative-intuitive thinking. He’s got a sickle and a sword and don’t mess with him, he’s got a pom pom ski hat on to show he’s a bro!
We all have a deep desire to express ourselves in creative and intuitive ways – but often, we don’t allow ourselves to follow through on most of the “crazy” ideas that sneak through the grid of our minds. We are stuck in survival mode, limiting thinking or patterns of fear and unworthiness.
Intuitive thinking comes from deep in the body. It is the inner knowing that can act as our personal GPS if we let it. But how many times have we said “yes”, when we mean “NO!” ? It seems insane when we realize that many of us live our lives trying to ensure our safety by pleasing others – not realizing that our safety depends on listening to our own inner knowing – it wants us to take the risks to get us where we really want to be, but often our thought patterns over ride our truth.
Most of us were raised to listen to the voices outside of ourselves, not the voices inside! And we try our best to please the outer world, thinking it is our key to where we want to be – oops. Now we on a detour, in a traffic jam or broke down on the side of the spiritual highway.
The Prince of Swords could be a person in your life who helps you dig deep to your true desires – and that would be someone very special since not many people can truly love so selflessly, or be so dedicated to your process. The Prince of Swords could be a skilled therapist – and if you have one, lucky you! More likely, the Prince of Swords is an aspect of your masculine side (whether you are male or female) who helps you to push through the emotions and thoughts that are not your inner knowing – so you can experience your true needs and desires.
How do we know the difference between our true inner knowing and the thoughts and feelings that stand in our way of perceiving it? First, we need to pay attention. Deep attention. Mindful breathing quiet attention. Observation. We need to get to know these aspects of ourself. How does it feel when we listen? What part of our body does the message come from or travel through? Often I can tell when the word “should” is part of the message, then this is not my deeper self.
Often, we treat our true, deep inner voice like a child that does not deserve to be heard or understood. We consider our own desires selfish or we call ourselves “spoiled” for wanting something we don’t have. This is where we can realize that we have some work to do on our relationship to ourself. Without loving kindness to ourselves, we can never get connected to that brilliant genius voice inside ourselves that really truly knows what is best for us.
Prince of Swords assists us to cut away the limits to our intuition and creativity – with style!
